History

The American School of Bangkok was established in 1983 as the first international kindergarten in Thailand. It was founded by Dr. Prachya Davi and Mrs. Lakhana Tavedikul and was originally called Didyasarin International Kindergarten. “Didyasarin” was the family of Mrs. Lakhana Tavedikul and education has been a cherished profession of the Didyasarin family for three generations. The school’s name was changed to “The American School of Bangkok” in the year 2000 after a few years of having expanded to become a full fledged K-12 international school with an American curriculum.
